Muhammad Meets Manchester

1971 - Promoting Ovaltine in Stretford and Visiting Friends in a Moss Side Nightclub
Muhammad famously promoted the drink, Ovaltine throughout the UK in 1971. This brought him to a Stretford Mall and was widely reported at the time. Less well known is the fascinating story of his visit to the Reno nightclub in Moss Side. Whilst in Manchester in 71, Ali popped in on his friend Phil Magbotiwan who founded the Reno. It was an honour to hear from Phil's daughter, Lisa, about Phil, the Reno and his friendship with Muhammad. Check out the fabulous story here.

1992 - The Hauser Book Tour, Paul Bhatti Meets His Hero and Muhammad's Funeral
In 1992 Muhammad was promoting Thomas Hauser's great biography, Muhammad Ali: His Life and Times. This saw him attend the Sherratt and Hughes book store to meet fans and sign copies of the book. Paul Bhatti, a lad from Prestwich, met Muhmmad in Sherratt and Hughes, and captured wonderful, unique video footage. Paul would also go on to attend Muhammad's funeral in 2016.
